Foundations Quarantine Challenge

Day One: It doesn’t look like a lot of clothes on my body but when i threw them on the bed i looked like a lot and it looked a lot when it was folded also.

Day Two: To be honest I never made a fort in my childhood so this is a first for me. I took 3 chairs tons of blankets, Christmas lights through the chairs, had pillows at the floor, had a couple of couch for doors. I had snacks and my cat named Chubby.

Day Three: I was thinking of making a clay mask but I wanted to try something different. I designed this mask in Photoshop. It took a long time to work on this and color this.

Day Four: I used my bed because I don’t have a lot of room to do a sculpture . The background is clothes and I used socks to make a shape of a heart. I put animals, and things I 3D printed inside the heart.

Day Five: Dresses

The history of dresses all started with wedding dresses in the Victorian Era with Queen Victoria worse a white lace dress at her wedding. Every dress starts by fabric sheets then being form to the body.

Day Six: I struggled with this because I didn’t have much to recreate any of the photos that i found on the website.

Exquisite CO LAB

I wanted to make a painting with my family, I painted the sky, my mother painted the black layer, my dad painted the dark gray layer, and I did the light gray layer. i feel that this painting is very successful and one of a kind.

Using a window as your blank canvas, create shapes and symbols that interact with the outside world.

so every summer my family had tons of bonfires and we sit around the fire and talk about the good old times, jam our to music and have fun. we have a huge maple tree that we put lights in and every time we have a bonfire we turn the lights on. It was kinda hard to draw with dry erase makers but i managed.

draw a line and record it as far as you can.

Main Project: Draw, Draw, Erase, Draw, Draw

I’m very impressed with myself for how well this turned out, most of the time technology doesn’t go my way. I’m very thankful of Kat to give me the idea to use clay, i love learning new things but I like to use what i learned and put that into ceramics. I like making new and different work ,but I missed being able to throw in my studio and using clay in general. After watching the links that Kat sent to me for inspiration for clay animation, I ended up dreaming about what my project would look like. I have a pond at my house that use to be my spot because it was peaceful and the sounds of the frogs and birds. I use to throw rocks in the pond so this is more of a memory film for me.

Reflection

I connected to Bryan Zanisnik because he gets his inspired from his family and his history. For me, my work is about my genetics , to deal with things that I can’t control. His “studio” is his basement because there are so many materials he can use and things from his childhood like videos that are used in his artwork. He wanted his performances very unpredictable. For me, I have an actual studio but that’s not where I get my inspiration or ideas. At first, I would just make art in my art classes back in middle school, I wasn’t great at making art but everyone in my family has some artistic ability and I just had to find mine. Once I fell in love with ceramics, I knew I wanted to make ceramics for the rest of my life. In high school I wanted to make everything and anything. There was so much that I wanted to do and experiment with but not enough time. Then I started to make “Squiggles” that’s so special to me because the randomness in making them and presenting them.  When people see my Squiggles, they have no idea what to call it because it’s so random and free flowing.  I love that aspect of my art and so does Bryan Zanisnik in his work.

Final Performance

I felt that our group idea was great, but i felt that we could have spent more time on it. Time management wasn’t the greatest, 3 out of the 4 of our group was sick including me. Another member lost a family member so she was out of town. we were able to work on our costumes by ourselves but we needed to be together for make the script. When that happened it was already the weekend and we didn’t have a lot of time. I felt that our idea of the future of us still being close friends, meeting up and talking about the good old days was good but it wasn’t that funny which helps lighten up the crowd. At the end of the day, I’m still proud of our group for trying their hardest and facing challenges and being able to overcome them. Which I believe that it is something everyone needs for their future .

The story of space

Our story is one single narration, taking during mid-day. i believe that there is a balance of images and writing, because every page has a form of an image and the charters are always talking. This story is during a dream, a group of friends try to encourage one of them to follow their dreams no matter what. That’s the meaning of friendship, sometimes you need that push from friends or family.
